There are loads of things you can do and they don't have to be one big event. You could do a few small events which would raise a lot of money in total. In terms of motivating people to get involved, emotions will only go so far what you need to do is make people want to get involved by doing something they will enjoy/get something out of. For example, you could do a raffle. This way people have the potential to win something. Or do a video games night where everyone pays �3 to enter and the winner gets a bag of sweets and the rest of the money goes to childline. Contact childline through their website and tell them that you want to raise money for them, they will have systems you can go through to donate the money and they will probably have advice and fundraising packs which will help you.
