How has the widespread use of antibiotics contributed to new health-care problems?

another HUGE health care cost is the money it takes to come up with these new antibiotics all the time to treat these changing germs. if penicillin still worked on everything, prescription drugs in general would be cheaper because the companies would not have to do so much new research.
