Itchy bumps on scalp and body? Is this scabies?

Hello! one and the most tell tale signs of scabies is burrowing. usually this is found first in between the fingers, then spreads to the body. They have a characteristic "track like" mark.Just as if they are following a path and then stopped to rest and feed. If you see track like marks on or in-between the fingers, it very well could be scabies. Sometimes the little buggers are very difficult to get rid of. Not all lotions or creams made for body lice are effective. Sometimes you may contract scabies that have been around the block so to speak and have become resistant. I do not even know if they still make this, but there was a product when I was a kid ( many moons ago) called Kwell. It comes in a shampoo and cream or lotion. My advice would be to ask for it, get another prescription for prednisone for your husband for his comfort and if possible, get a new bed. If there is anything that is hiding in the mattress, nothing will help for long. Just for your own information, scabies do tend to become more active while up and around. It disturbs them and you itch because they are finding a new areas to hide and feed for the day. I do not believe that you are dealing with bed bugs, but the biopsy came back as a bug bite and they do not lie. The tissues show specific signs of certain blood cells that are sent to the area in response to inflammation. the tissues themselves show signs of inflammation due to the saliva excreated by these little creatures. When you are treated again , be sure to get every crack and creve, make sure that both you hands and feet are covered in the medication as well as the scalp.Shampoo for the scalp is most likely your best bet.The trick is to let the medication soak into the layers of skin to rid yourselves of this. I do hope that you feel better very soon. I feel so very bad that you have been suffering like this. As if pregnancy isn't enough ;) Please feel better soon so you can concentrate on that beautiful baby on the way! I hope that this has been helpful
